The Family Caregiver Support Program provides valuable resources for those who are giving unpaid care to adults 60 and older and for those with Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder.

Relatives Raising Children
When parents are unable to raise their own children, grandparents or other relatives often step in to assume the responsibility, and keep their family together. Parents may be unable to raise their children due to substance abuse, domestic violence, incarceration, mental illness, or other long-term health problems. Relatives raising children take on an incredibly demanding role, and may experience challenges, such as mental, physical, and financial stress. Senior Services has programs designed to assist relatives raising children transition into their new roles easier.
The Family Caregiver Support Program provides valuable resources for relatives age 55 or older, who are raising children 18 and under or with severe disabilities.

Respite Assistance
Respite care is a service that provides support for family caregivers by providing temporary care for a loved one that needs attention and assistance. It relieves the family caregiver of his or her duties so that he or she can have needed rest and recharge their batteries or address temporary short term scheduling conflicts.

Counseling
Although caregiving can be a uniquely rewarding experience, it is also mentally and physically demanding. Without proper support, it can take a toll on your physical and emotional health. Senior Services offers skilled therapists that can help you process your feelings, learn to set boundaries, strengthen your problem-solving abilities, and improve communication with your care recipient and other family members. Counseling services will teach you how to handle stress in a healthy way and give you the tools you need to succeed in caregiving.
