Volunteer Driving Program

Volunteers take riders on basic needs rides—to and from medical appointments, grocery stores, the bank, etc. For seniors and adults with disabilities who are unable to drive, these rides can make a tremendous impact. All rides provided are free of charge with donations encouraged from our riders taking rides from volunteers.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 Years Old
  • Have 3 Years Driving Experience
  • Pass a Background Check
  • Have a Reliable Vehicle
  • Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance

 


Mini Bus

Senior Services provides transportation for senior housing facilities that do not have transportation for their residents. Currently, we are servicing five residences. There is a $2.00 donation one-way.

Our Mini Bus runs Mondays and Tuesdays with plans to add additional living facilities in the near future. If you are a senior resident that is interested in partnering with us to provide transportation please inquire here.


Senior Shuttle

Need a ride to a medical appointment in Will County?  Schedule it with our Senior Express Department. The shuttle seats 3 passengers and a wheelchair. Riders must be 60 and over or be 18-59 with a disability. Rides are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis. Not all ride requests will be met, please call in advance to schedule a ride. Education

Title XX (twenty) Card Elderly Paratransit Service

Title XX is a door-to-door bus service for the Central Will Dial-a-Ride program. There is a suggested donation of $5.00 for the processing of the card after which your rides are then free. The card is valid from July 1 to June 30 each year. The card must be renewed every year.

Requirements:

Must be age 60 or over and have a need for transportation- proof of age, such as a drivers license, state ID, or birth certificate must be presented at time of registration for the card. 

You must live in one of these Service Areas:

  1. City of Joliet
  2. Joliet Township
  3. Lockport Township
  4. Homer Township
  5. Plainfield Township
  6. Troy Town
  7. Jackson Township

Once you receive your card:

  1. Call Pace at 1(800) 244-4410 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm
  2. Ask for the Registration Clerk
  3. Give them your name, address, and card number

Benefit Eligibility Access Management (BEAM)

The BEAM application provides the Senior Ride Free Transit Card and the auto license sticker discount. To qualify, applicants must be 65 or older by December 31 of the current year or 16 years of age or older and totally disabled before January 1 of the present year and meet an income requirement.

  4. 2017 Federal Income Tax Return (1040) if filed
  5. 2017 Pension/Annuities 1099 and all other 1099's
  6. 2017 Alimony/TANF
  7. 2017 Interest, Dividends, Wages and all other 1099's
  8. Proof of Disability (if disabled)
