About Us

History

In 1962, the Older American Act was signed into law while Lyndon Johnson was the President of the United States. About that time, a committee of concerned individuals in Joliet began to explore how they might best help seniors living in Will County. By 1966, the group incorporated and the first Senior Services Center outside of Springfield in Illinois was born. Since its beginning, Senior Services has kept its mission to assist seniors to live safe, healthy and independent lives through its programs and services.

Our Mission

Senior Services of Will County’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for older persons, help maintain their independence, avoid or lessen isolation and loneliness, and maintain wellness.

Our Goal

Expand services and programs in an effort to ready ourselves for the rapidly growing population of older adults.

Our Values

Respect and Dignity
Acceptance and Inclusion
Integrity and Trust
